Hope is Not a Strategy Against Cyberattacks

Are cyberattacks accelerating in terms of financial impacts? This is the second time this year that my personal data has been possibly compromised. This is beginning to feel like an organized effort.

Premera Blue Cross told me that they hoped that no data had actually been accessed, but they really don’t know. They are simply hoping that this is the case. Hope? I am fearful when a large corporation relies on emotions and thin air to address its most critical concerns.

He also told me that they had hired a top notch cybersecurity firm and after they are done, the systems will be secure. I replied that the only time that corporate systems are completely secure, is when no one has access and the company is not connected to the internet (and that they work in a cave on a remote island.)
